I am still impressed by the whole thing. First of all I have to congratulate the organizers (Marc, Yuri, Maarten, Sam, and Martijn) for doing a great job. They fully supported all the speakers from the first contact to the end of the event. The venue where the event took place was an actual church, De Duif, and it was a spectacular choice. From the moment I entered it, I was just blown away. Beautiful light, colors, art, atmosphere. Everything was ready for a great event. I was the first speaker to present after a short break in the middle of the program, and I had so much fun doing it. Mostly because of the crowd which was very educated and full of interesting people. It was such a delight to present to them.
In my talk, that is me on the right 🙂 I focused on demonstrating how mobile technology has changed the way medical workers treat patients. I started with the most basic examples like the ability to alert emergency medical services with the mobile phone, moved on to more advance staff like accessing the electronic patient record using a smart phone, and finished with demonstrating two cool extensions used to hack the iPhone and give it additional functions useful in medicine. One of these hacks is actual a project of my own, which I will be writing more about soon. For now you can check out my slideshow, although a video of my talk should soon be available as well.
By the way, be sure to check out slideshows from all other presenters who appeared in the event. Slideshare even put the spotlight on the event on their front page.
Also take a look at some gorgeous photographs from the event taken by Hidde van der Lijn.
