Ok, cute for about 2 seconds, then you think of a hundred problems with the design (as mentioned above) not to mention you can't properly tag this bag, and to fully drain it you'd have to have the tubing come out of the top of the bear's head and turn him upside down, which looks like you're draining the blood from your kill. Creepy.

Kids don't really care what shape bag their blood comes in. Surely this is just a spoof bag.

How exactly are they supposed to know during the donation process what kind of bag to put the blood in? Or do they propose tranferring blood from one bag to another, (dangerous and costly).

Completely useless. First off I doubt the kids want to see teddy die from lack of blood, second this is design over function - this bag does not actually work as a blood bag would. I don't mind if people want to design a snazzy phone that is bad at making calls, or a snazzy watch on which you can not tell the time easily.... but when you design a blood bag that is bad at letting blood out then you are messing with peoples ability to stay alive.

This is dangerous, faulty design. If the design agency presented this as an actual suggestion then I'd say they might need to top off the retainer for their lawyers.

Bit stupid, the blood in the 'hands' and left 'foot' wont be gravity fed because of the location of the drain....

I agree with Ivor, this design is innovative and relevant, and even if it does scare the children, its creating awareness to the issue and will hopefully inspire future designs of a similar nature. also, if I was a kid in hospital, I reckon I'd be glad to see something that reminded me of home comforts than something that looks sterile and foreign to my usual environment

I personally try to keep my mind open at all times. This design concept comes from a very respected and award winning design studio, and I am always willing to see their ideas. I think we should include designers more often in every aspect of healthcare and our communication with patients. They can contribute a lot, we don't know everything. I heard comments that such a blood bag could be terrifying for kids. I can't be sure, but think the opposite, certainly it would be better than the standard one. What I have noticed from my time spent at the pediatric department is that children love stories. Stories are very powerful and this teddy can give you a good basis to create such a story to comfort children receiving blood transfusions.
